Chris Brown still hopeful of Australian tour
Chris Brown's team has assured fans in Australia they are working hard to make sure the singer's upcoming tour goes ahead.
The troubled star is currently battling to land a work visa for the trip Down Under in December (15).
Officials at the country's Immigration Department have issued Brown
with a "notice of intention to consider refusal" due to his assault
conviction for beating up his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
He has 28 days to appeal and present a case as to why he should be
granted a visa, and Brown's team has now reached out to Aussie fans
and urged them not to give up hope.
A statement from Brown's team, obtained by Australia's Herald Sun
newspaper, reads, "Contrary to media reports, Chris Brown's request
to enter Australia on tour has not been denied. This request is
currently being considered by the office of the Immigration
Minister.
"We respect their right to review this request and have faith that
a decision will be made with the full consideration of his
continued personal growth, ongoing philanthropic endeavours and
desire to performs for his fans."
Immigration Minister Peter Dutton says of the case, "Decisions on
whether a visa will or will not be issued are made after that time
frame and consideration of the material presented to the Department
of Immigration and Border Protection."
