Chris Brown's private jet makes emergency landing

Chris Brown suffered a flight scare on Monday (06May13) after the private jet he was travelling on was forced to make an emergency landing.

The Kiss Kiss hitmaker boarded the Gulfstream 3 aircraft in Burbank, California bound for Teterboro, New Jersey, in a bid to attend the Met Ball in nearby New York, but the cockpit began filling with smoke just minutes after take-off, prompting the pilot to turn the plane around and make an immediate landing back in Burbank.

It is not yet known what caused the smoke.

The setback didn't ground Brown for long - he chartered another jet less than an hour later, reports TMZ.com.

He failed to make it to the Big Apple event in time, but was able to join revellers at an afterparty for the Costume Institute Gala bash.
