Chris Brown's lawyer: 'Accusations against him are fabricated'

Chris Brown's lawyer is blasting the woman who has accused the star of threatening her with a gun, insisting the allegations are "fabricated".

The Forever hitmaker was taken into custody late on Tuesday (30Aug16) after a lengthy stand-off with police, who had surrounded Brown's Tarzana, California home following allegations suggesting he threatened model Baylee Curran with a gun during a party.

Chris protested his innocence in a series of Instagram videos hours before his arrest, and after posting bail, declared "the world will see" his version of events in due time.

Chris' lawyer, Mark Geragos, is now speaking out against the accusations, insisting the 27-year-old has "cooperated fully" with law enforcement officials. He is also dismissing Curran's account of the events that resulted in his client's arrest.

"It has become apparent that the allegations are not just false but fabricated," he told the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday (31Aug16).

According to Geragos, police officers did not find any firearms, despite previous reports suggesting they found guns in a bag that was allegedly tossed from a window of Brown's home.

Chris, who is free on $250,000 (£188,330) bail, is scheduled to appear at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center on 20 September (16) for arraignment.

Meanwhile, the singer has chosen to focus on his music amid the drama and has released his new song What Would You Do? less than 24 hours after he was released from jail on Tuesday (30Aug16). The hitmaker posted the track on his SoundCloud account with a link on his Twitter alongside the caption: "MUSIC!!!!"

What Would You Do? is taken from Chris' upcoming eighth studio album, Heartbreak on a Full Moon. The singer released the music video for the album's lead single, Grass Ain't Greener, last week (ends26Aug16).
