Casting bosses looking for child star to play young Elton John
Casting bosses are scouring the U.K. to find a talented child actor to play a young Sir Elton John in the singer's upcoming movie-musical biopic.
Producers behind Rocketman have launched a search for a musician between the ages of six and 10 to play the flamboyant star, real name Reginald Dwight, in the long-awaited film about his life and career.
The casting notice reads, "Reggie is a shy boy from Pinner, London,
whose life is transformed when he is first put in front of the
piano as a five year old. His immense talent leads him to the Royal
Academy of Music and later, as he pushes his awkward, insecure,
younger self to one side, to a desire to be a rock 'n' roll legend
as he renames himself Elton John.
"Rocketman is a fantasy-inspired retelling of Elton's story where
reality is skewed by an excess world and choreographed musical
sequences."
Kids who can play the piano are invited to check out audition
