Calvin Harris hospitalized after car accident
DJ Calvin Harris is recovering after a car crash on Friday night (20May16).
Taylor Swift's boyfriend had to pull out of a gig in Las Vegas at the last minute after he was hospitalized following the accident. He was also forced to cancel his headline set at Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, on Saturday (21May16).
But his representative has since assured fans the Scottish star is
OK, writing: "Adam's transport was involved in a collision this
evening on the way to the airport. As a result he will be unable to
perform at Omnia tonight. He has been examined by doctors and told
to rest for a few days."
Calvin returned home to his Beverly Hills compound following the
drama.
Sources tell TMZ a car veered into oncoming traffic and hit the
sports utility vehicle, in which Harris was a passenger. They also
claim that when Harris got to hospital and a private room was
unavailable, he left against medical advice.
Harris, real name Adam Wiles, is scheduled to return to the Omnia
nightclub for his performance next Friday (27May16).
Panic! At The Disco stepped in at the last minute to replace Harris
at the Hangout Festival on Saturday, and organizers of the event
tweeted their well wishes to the DJ.
"Calvin Harris is unable to perform tonight. All of us at Hangout
wish him and everyone involved in last night's (Friday) collision a
speedy recovery," they wrote on Twitter on Saturday.
The rockers were due to play at the festival, but had their set
bumped up to replace the out of action DJ. "In the wake of Calvin
Harris’ car accident last night, we will be moving our set time to
fill in for Calvin. Wishing all involved in last night’s accident a
speedy recovery and hope we do you proud, Calvin," they posted on
Twitter ahead of Saturday's set.
