Calvin Harris breaks silence on Taylor Swift split
Calvin Harris has broken his silence since splitting from Taylor Swift, insisting the former couple still has a "huge amount of love and respect" for each other.
News of the break-up broke on Wednesday (01Jun16), and a day later the Scottish DJ confirmed the reports with a simple statement on Twitter.com.
"The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what
remains is a huge amount of love and respect," he wrote.
Taylor later retweeted the post, but did not offer up any
additional comments.
However, her good friends have started offering up their support
should she need it - longtime best pal Abigail Anderson sent her a
warm message via Instagram.com.
Posting a photo of a note card with a watercolor pink heart in the
center and the phrase "My weird heart loves your weird heart",
Abigail added the caption: "There are few things more significant
or valuable than a friendship that will withstand the test of time.
Thank you for getting me. Always."
It's unclear whether Abigail created the card or if Swift gave the
note to her longtime pal.
The break-up is said to have occurred last week (ends29May16), just
days after Calvin was involved in a car accident in Beverly Hills,
California, while en route to the airport to catch a flight to Las
Vegas for a gig.
Calvin canceled four appearances following the 20 May (16) crash to
give him time to recuperate, but he was well enough to travel back
to his native U.K. on Monday (30May16).
Taylor and Calvin began dating last year (15) after being
introduced by their mutual friend Ellie Goulding.
