Bruno Mars sued by photographer for sharing childhood snap
Bruno Mars is facing legal action from a photographer after posting a childhood picture of himself dressed like Elvis Presley online.
The Uptown Funk singer used to impersonate Presley as a child and posted an adorable 1989 picture of himself posing as the iconic performer to his social media feeds in June (17).
He captioned the image, "When you're too impatient for Throwback Thursday so you fully embrace Way Back Wednesday."
According to editors at TMZ.com, photographer Catherine McGann is now claiming to have taken the snap, and alleges that she owns the copyright.
Documents obtained by the gossip website show McGann is suing the R&B star and bosses at his label, Warner Music Group, as he allegedly did not ask for permission to use the image.
She is seeking damages and compensation over the alleged breach of copyright. Mars' original post gained more than 1.2 million likes on Instagram.
