Bruno Mars dedicates Cleveland concert to car crash survivor

R&B star Bruno Mars made a young car crash survivor's dreams come true on Saturday (28Jun14) by inviting the fan to his show in Cleveland, Ohio and serenading her from the stage.

Zumyah Thorpe lost her pregnant mother and two sisters in an horrific car accident last year (13). The 11 year old suffered a traumatic brain injury which impacted her motor skills and she only regained the ability to speak again by learning the words to tracks by Mars.

The Grenade hitmaker learned about Thorpe's tragic story and subsequent recovery via social media and he decided to reach out to the child so he could meet her when his tour touched down in Cleveland this weekend.

He met Thorpe and her family before his gig and treated them to a private four-song set before presenting her with a teddy bear, while he also gave them tickets to attend his concert on Saturday, when he performed his hit Just the Way You Are for the pre-teen.

Mars later took to his Instagram.com account to share a photo of himself with a smiling Thorpe. In the accompanying caption, he wrote, "Tonight's show was dedicated to this amazing young woman. I love you, Zumyah."

He also uploaded a second snap of him giving Thorpe a kiss on the cheek and added, "Zumyah tonight you gave my band and I something we've never felt before. You're an inspiration to the world! #WeLoveYouZumyah."
