Broad City stars talk Hillary Clinton cameo
The stars of comedy series Broad City have said Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's cameo was "a whole other level".
The White House contender shot some scenes for the show last December (15), but the programme's stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer remain incredibly excited about it.
"We've had some amazing guests stars, but this is a whole other
level," Abbi told Entertainment Tonight at the South by Southwest
(SXSW) film and music festival in Austin, Texas, on Friday
(11Mar16).
"She's like an A-list historical figure," Ilana said. "Meeting her?
It was a trip. It was wild."
The Democratic frontrunner, and wife of former President Bill
Clinton, was on set for about 45 minutes. "We were like, 'Thank
God,' because she shouldn't be on our show for too long," Abbi
laughed. "There are probably more important things for her to be
doing.
"We were shooting and then we had to reset the camera for a
different take and we were just chatting, just three girls
chatting."
"We talked about Cynthia Nixon and Sex and the City," Ilana
confessed. "Cynthia is on the same episode. (Clinton) was like, 'I
like her.'"
However, the comedy duo won't be campaigning for Hillary anytime
soon.
"I don't know if that's helpful," said Ilana. "We're these pot
smoking characters. Now she (Clinton) knows Broad City. I think
maybe if someone mentions it, she may be like, 'I think I was on
that show.' "
Hillary is unlikely to be too concerned about the pair's backing,
as she counts stars including Lena Dunham, Kate Hudson and Katy
Perry among her most famous supporters.
