Britney Spears is back to her breathy best on single Make Me
Britney Spears delighted fans on Thursday night (14Jul16) when she dropped her comeback single Make Me.
The 34-year-old singer hasn't released any new material since Pretty Girls, her collaboration with Iggy Azalea, failed to set the charts alight last May (15). But Britney didn't have that problem with Make Me, featuring rapper G-Eazy, which shot to the top of the iTunes single sales chart just hours after its release.
When Britney was informed of her success by a fan on Twitter, she
replied: "This is an incredible feeling. Thank you, thank you,
thank you!! #MakeMe."
Britney is back to her breathy best on the single, which features
lyrics such as: "No rules, From the butt of the car, let's take it
back to my room, Igniting the heat of the woman, let the sparks
fuse, Blowing up to the ceiling, we're burning bright, When we
cross the line."
She also shared the cover art for the single, which sees the
mother-of-two showing off her incredible figure in a white crop
top, skirt and thigh-high white boots.
Her ensemble features a train on the back, and Britney flicks her
blonde hair to the side as she poses sexily for the shot.
Make Me is the first single from Britney's upcoming ninth studio
album, which she has been working hard on for the past few
months.
Speaking recently about her next record, Britney told V magazine:
"It's not what you would think at all. It's the best thing I've
done in a long time. I'm proud of the work, and it's very
different; it's not what you would think at all. But I'm not
rushing anything. I just want it to be done right, so that my fans
will truly appreciate it."
Britney has also been kept busy with her Piece of Me residency at
Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, which she is set to continue until
2017.
