Britney Spears gets arty during children's hospital visit

Britney Spears took time out of her concert rehearsals to take an art class with young patients at a hospital in Los Angeles earlier this week (beg10Mar14).

The pop superstar headed to a ward at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles facility on Tuesday (11Mar14) to spend time with three sick kids, and join their art therapy class.

Spears was snapped helping one girl draw a picture and create a collage.

A statement posted on the hospital's website reads, "Britney joined three patients on their art therapy journey, which focused on the topic, 'What it feels like to be away from home'.

"Britney shared her favourite images that remind her of family. Her collage included an image of a crawfish - her favourite food. She also chose a photo showing happy children to represent her two boys and a butterfly."

The visit came before Spears jetted back to her home state of Louisiana for her sister Jamie Lynn's upcoming wedding this weekend (14-16Mar14).
