Bobbi Kristina Brown's funeral sparks family drama
Tributes were paid to Whitney Houston at the funeral of her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown on Saturday (01Aug15), as loved ones gathered for an intimate ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia that was marred by a family bust-up.
The 22-year-old, who died on 26 July (15) six months after she was found unresponsive in a bath tub at her home, was carried into the Saint James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta in a silver casket.
Her father Bobby Brown was joined by family and friends to mourn
his only daughter with the pop legend Houston, and he led the
emotional tributes during the service.
The funeral was organized by the tragic youngster's aunt Pat
Houston, but editors at People.com report that during her speech
she was heckled by another relative, who was then escorted out of
the church.
The drama then continued when Alicia Etheredge, wife of Bobbi
Kristina's father Bobby Brown, was rushed to hospital hours after
the funeral suffering from a seizure, according to TMZ.com.
The intimate ceremony featured an order of service with a smiling
photo of Bobbi Kristina along with the words, "I Also Will Always
Love You, Love Daddy", in tribute to her mother's famous 1992
hit.
Donnie McClurkin's Stand was performed by a choir at Houston's 2012
memorial, and the same song and choir featured at Bobbi Kristina's.
A photo of her mother was next to her casket during the service,
while Monica and CeCe Winans - who also performed at Houston's
memorial - sang one of her hits, Jesus Loves Me.
Several family members paid tribute to the tragic aspiring singer,
including gospel star Cissy Houston, and director Tyler Perry. Her
former boyfriend Nick Gordon, who is a person of interest in the
police case surrounding Bobbi's death, was reportedly banned from
attending.
Bobby Brown touched his daughter's casket as it was led out of the
church to bagpipes playing Ava Maria. She will be laid to rest next
to her mother in New Jersey on Monday (03Aug15).
