Blake Shelton buys ex Miranda Lambert's closed up shop

Blake Shelton has surprisingly purchased the abandoned shop ex-wife Miranda Lambert just closed in his Oklahoma hometown.

On Wednesday (25May16), the Mama's Broken Heart singer announced the closure of her Pink Pistol boutique in Tishomingo, the small town where they used to live together.

But hours after she revealed the news, Blake made an announcement of his own, and unexpectedly took over the property from his ex-wife.

"As a resident of Tishomingo, I am very sorry that the Pink Pistol has decided to move its operations out of the area," Blake said in a statement to E! News. "We all as a community appreciate everything it has done for our town. As for the actual properties left behind... I was offered the opportunity to buy them and I have a plan brewing."

Blake did not reveal any further details on his development plans.

Miranda opened the store in Tishomingo in November, 2012, and the following year (13), she opened another Pink Pistol shop in her hometown of Lindale, Texas.

With the closure of the Oklahoma shop, she is expanding the Lindale store with plans to open the revamped and improved shop in August (16).

The singer made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday, thanking everyone who helped make the Tishomingo boutique a success.

She said, "I want to send a heartfelt thank you to all the employees who worked hard to help me bring the store in Tishomingo to life, as well as the patrons who came to experience the Pink Pistol and supported the store. Sometimes you need to close a chapter to build on a new beginning or go back home."

The Pink Pistol isn't the only business venture Miranda runs in Tishomingo - in 2014, she renovated an eight-bedroom 1900s guest house and turned it into a bed and breakfast, called the Ladysmith. That same year, she opened the doors to a no-kill animal shelter, called Redemption Ranch.

Miranda and Blake divorced last July (15) after nearly four years of marriage. Both have moved on to new loves - Miranda is now dating singer Anderson East and Blake is romancing No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani.
