Beyonce urges fans to donate to Baltimore clean-up effort
Pop superstar Beyonce has urged fans to make donations to help the citizens of Baltimore clean up the city in the aftermath of this week's (ends03May15) violent riots.
The singer has become the latest star to speak out after protests broke out in the Maryland city following the funeral of Freddie Gray, 25, who suffered fatal injuries in police custody last week (ends26Apr15).
She has posted a number of candid pictures on her Instagram.com
page, including a shot of Time magazine's latest cover showing an
image of the riots, and she urged fans to make donations to the
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)
to fund the clean-up efforts.
Beyonce writes, "People are hurting. Join us in supporting the
NAACP to help in the clean-up efforts and to provide housing, food
and supplies to those affected by the unrest in Baltimore."
