Beyonce looks set for glory at the 2017 Grammy Awards after scooping nine nominations.

The Halo singer, the most nominated woman in the show's history, has already won 20 Grammy trophies throughout her career and looks set to add up to nine more to her total at the 59th annual ceremony in February (17).

She has landed the coveted Album of the Year nomination for her visual opus Lemonade, and it will do battle with Adele's 25, Justin Bieber's Purpose, Views by Drake, and A Sailor's Guide to Earth by Sturgill Simpson.

She is also the first artist to score mentions in pop, R&B, rock and rap categories in the same year, according to the Associated Press. Her nominations also include Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Formation, as well as Best Rock Performance for Don't Hurt Yourself with Jack White, Best Pop Solo Performance for Hold Up, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for Freedom with Kendrick Lamar, and Best Urban Contemporary Album for Lemonade.

Drake, Rihanna, and Kanye West followed closely behind Beyonce with eight nominations each. Adele earned five mentions, including Album of the Year for 25 and Record and Song of the Year for Hello.

Other nominees for Record of the Year include Lukas Graham for 7 Years, Rihanna featuring Drake for Work and Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots, while Song of the Year nominees include Mike Posner (I Took A Pill in Ibiza), Justin Bieber (Love Yourself) and Lukas Graham (7 Years).

David Bowie, who passed away in January (16), earned four nominations for his last album Blackstar, including Best Rock Performance, Alternative Music Album and Best Rock Song for its title track.
