Beyonce not connected to freak show movie

A representative for Beyonce has dismissed reports suggesting the singer will star in a movie about a woman who performed in a 19th century freak show.

A report emerged over the weekend (02-03Jan16) claiming the Halo star was planning to write the project and portray Saartjie Baartman, a South African who was made to exhibit her oversized bottom at shows in London under the stage name Hottentot Venus.

However, the singer's rep has now denied the rumour, telling Gossipcop.com, "Beyonce is not connected to this project, but this is a very important story to be told."

The former Destiny's Child star has previously appeared in movies including Austin Powers in Goldmember, Dreamgirls, and Cadillac Records.
