Beyonce and Katy Perry surprise burns victim with personalised Christmas cards
Superstars Beyonce and Katy Perry made a young burns victim's festive season one to remember after granting her Christmas wish and sending her signed cards.
Safyre Terry lost her father and younger siblings in an arson attack at their home in Schenectady, New York in 2013 and the blaze left the eight year old with severe burns to 75 per cent of her body.
Her aunt recently took to Facebook.com to reveal that all Safyre
wanted for the holidays was enough Christmas cards to fill a tree
display, but the post went viral and the family was inundated with
warm wishes from people around the world, including President
Barack Obama.
However, Safyre's biggest surprises came from her pop idols Beyonce
and Katy, who had boxes of gifts delivered to the youngster's home
just in time for Christmas.
Inside Beyonce's package was a T-shirt bearing the word "Flawless",
from the singer's 2013 song of the same name, a headband with a big
light-up bow, and a handwritten Christmas card, in which the Halo
hitmaker wrote, "To My Survivor Safyre! You are such an incredible
inspiration. Have a beautiful holiday."
But that wasn't all - Safyre also received a present from Katy,
which her family only discovered in her mountain of post on Boxing
Day (26Dec15).
Among the gifts were concert DVDs, a hoodie with cat ears, a
backpack, a light-up cell phone case, and a black cat purse.
"Safyre, I heard about your Christmas wish and am so honored that
you saved the top of the tree for me!" the pop star wrote in the
accompanying Christmas card. "I hope you have a wonderful Christmas
and a great New Year. I'll be thinking of you on Christmas Day,
special girl."
