Beyonce and JAY-Z make rare public appearance at Rihanna's Diamond Ball

Beyonce and Jay-Z stepped out for their first red carpet event since the birth of their twins at Rihanna's Diamond Ball on Thursday (14Sep17).

The superstar couple, who welcomed Sir and Rumi in June (17), attended Rihanna's third annual Diamond Ball, which supports her Clara Lionel Foundation, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York on Thursday night.

They posed for pictures with Rihanna inside the venue and were snapped by photographers as they left via the back door hand-in-hand and walked towards a private car. Pictures show Beyonce having a slight wardrobe malfunction as the thigh split in her cleavage-baring silk emerald wrap dress revealed she was wearing black control underwear as she walked.

This was the second event Beyonce attended on Thursday as she was pictured hanging out backstage of the Broadway show Dear Evan Hansen earlier that evening.

They weren't the only celebrities in attendance - rappers Cardi B and Lil' Kim, models Martha Hunt and Emily Ratajkowski, and TV personality La La Anthony also hit the red carpet, while Rihanna was supported by several family members including her mother Monica Fenty.

Fans also had a chance to attend the glitzy gala by entering a fundraising ballot and donating a dollar. Rihanna spoke about the success of the campaign to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet.

"The Diamond Ball is so big and people buy these really big expensive tables to donate but my fans wanna feel like they're a part of it as well and maybe all they can offer is even a dollar," she said. "A dollar is so non-intimidating and I feel like that's the reason it's working and the reason I wanted to implement that into the foundation."

The event was hosted by Dave Chappelle and performers included Calvin Harris and Kendrick Lamar. Rihanna posted videos of her dancing and singing to the rapper's set on her Instagram story.
