Benedict Cumberbatch weds on Valentine's Day
British actor Benedict Cumberbatch is a married man after exchanging vows on Valentine's Day (14Feb15).
The Imitation Game star, 38, wed his pregnant partner Sophie Hunter, 36, at the medieval St. Peter and St. Paul's Church in Mottistone on the Isle of Wight, off the coast of England, on the most romantic day of the year.
The happy couple celebrated the nuptials with a reception at the
nearby Mottistone Manor, where guests included the groom's actor
parents Timothy Carlton and Wanda Ventham, and Cumberbatch's
Sherlock co-star Andrew Scott.
Cumberbatch and theater director Hunter announced their engagement
in November (14), five years after they met on the set of thriller
Burlesque Fairytales in 2009. In early January (15), they revealed
they are expecting their first child.
The newlyweds will have to put plans for a long honeymoon on hold -
Cumberbatch is expected to attend the Academy Awards in Hollywood
next Sunday (22Feb15), when he will compete for the Best Actor
Oscar.
