Ben Affleck used Gabor's mansion for Argo
Ailing actress Zsa Zsa Gabor's Beverly Hills mansion doubled as a Hollywood producer's headquarters in Ben Affleck's new movie Argo.
The actor/director and his crew never met the 95-year-old TV and movie legend during the shoot, because she was confined to her bedroom throughout the project - and too sick for visitors.
Meanwhile, a Hancock Park, Los Angeles estate doubled for the
Canadian ambassador's residence in Tehran, Iran and the Ontario
International Airport just outside the city became the Tehran
airport for the film.
Affleck and his cast and crew also spent a month shooting in
Istanbul, Turkey.
Argo, which debuts in cinemas on Friday (12Oct12), chronicles the
real-life Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) rescue effort to free
six Americans from Iran during the country's revolution, which
began in 1979.
