Backlash over Nicki Minaj's Bill Cosby Halloween costume post

Nicki Minaj has stirred up controversy by posting a photograph on Instagram.com showing a doll dressed as disgraced comic Bill Cosby.

The original photo appeared on music producer and radio personality DJ Clue's social media account on Saturday (31Oct15), with the caption, "This gotta stop #PillCosby" alongside numerous laughing face emojis.

Nicki reposted the image, which features a man dressed as woman who is being hauled away by a blow-up doll dressed as Bill Cosby. It also shows the doll appearing to put drugs in the woman's drink, in a nod to the claims made by victims who say the comedian drugged them before assaulting them.

"Our generation is so desensitized," Minaj captioned the photo on Saturday, and many of the superstar's fans were quick to criticize the post. Some branded the image "disgusting" and one user wrote, "This isn't what Halloween is about."

A representative for Nicki has yet to comment on the controversy.
