Babyface honored at Walk of Fame star ceremony
Kenneth 'babyface' Edmonds was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday (10Oct13).
Usher, Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Stevie Wonder were among the celebrity pals who saluted the singer/songwriter and producer as he unveiled his pavement plaque on Hollywood Boulevard.
The multi-Grammy winner told fans he would never have thought that
one day he would have a star, stating, "That was not part of the
plan. That's what makes it an amazing thing."
And pal Toni Braxton admitted she was not convinced he would accept
the honor: "Kenny is kind of shy... and he's very modest. So I know
it took a lot of pushing to get him to even commit to this."
Braxton went on to credit Edmonds, who is working with her on a new
album, for helping her come to terms with her marriage split,
adding, "He's been my big brother and helping me get through this
phase. It's tough."
The R&B star's divorce from Keri Lewis was finalized in July
(13).
