Azealia Banks tearfully talks about alleged Russell Crowe altercation
Rapper Azealia Banks has given a tearful interview about her alleged altercation with Russell Crowe.
The 212 star hit headlines on 16 October (16) after accusing the actor of spitting on her, calling her derogatory names and carrying her out of his hotel suite in Beverly Hills following an incident at a dinner party the night before.
Banks demanded Crowe apologize and when he refused to even address
the drama, she filed a police report.
Rap mogul and filmmaker RZA, who had invited Banks as his guest,
subsequently spoke out to insist the Gladiator star did nothing
wrong, claiming Banks' bad behavior wrecked a pleasant evening.
Now Banks has opened up about the fight in an emotional chat with
Access Hollywood, fighting back tears as she protested her
innocence.
"Every time, every time something like this happens, I'm always
being blamed for wanting this kind of attention," she said. "Like,
who the f**k wants to tell somebody they got spat on? You know,
that's humiliating. And I'm just, like, really, really
humiliated."
Banks claims Crowe insulted her and things went from bad to worse
when she fired back.
"Russell Crowe's just like, 'Oh, you haven't done anything with
your career,'" she recalled.
"And I'm just like, 'Well, nobody's checkin' for you right now, so
let's just settle down.' And then when I said that, the whole table
was like, 'Oh my god, how dare you!'"
The 25-year-old then insisted she is most disappointed in RZA, who
she had been hoping to sign a record deal with, because he failed
to stand up for her.
She added, "The frustrating point is that RZA, he immediately just
kinda gives me the look, like, 'Oh my god, you're f**king up my
seat at the table with the white guys. The big white Hollywood
guys.'"
Crowe has still yet to comment on the fall out, but he has
reportedly hired top Los Angeles attorney Shawn Holley to represent
him.
