Asking Alexandria rocker cheats death in car crash

British-born rocker Sam Bettley is "lucky to be alive" after flipping his rental van on a California road.

The Asking Alexandria bassist was transporting his belongings when a tire blew, sending the Budget van spiraling into the air and rolling down the road.

The 25-year-old broke the news to fans on Instagram, telling them he cannot believe he walked away from the accident "without a scratch".

The Moving On rocker has also posted photos of his wrecked truck and belongings scattered on a road, and shots of his treatment in a nearby hospital.

He added the caption: "Lucky to be alive. Tire blew out on me causing me to lose control and flip the truck. Everything I own has been destroyed but at least I walked away without a scratch. Grateful."

It is not clear if he had any passengers at the time of the crash.
