Ashley Tisdale celebrates birthday with beach bash

Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez were among the stars who turned out for Ashley Tisdale's birthday beach party on Monday.

The actress turned 27, and to celebrate she rounded up her friends for a day out on Malibu beach in California.

Gomez was snapped splashing in the waves with a male pal before he lifted her high into the air, and Tisdale's High School Musical star co-star Hudgens took her boyfriend Austin Butler to the bash.

The birthday girl was accompanied by her partner Scott Speer, and the pair puckered up on the sand in front of photographers.

Tisdale clearly enjoyed her celebrations, tweeting a picture showing her beside a fire at dusk and telling her followers, "Magical night at the beach!"
