Ashley Tisdale backs breast cancer campaign
Ashley Tisdale is backing a new breast cancer campaign as a tribute to her grandmother who recently beat the disease.
The High School Musical star has signed up to support Puma's 2012 Project Pink initiative, which aims to raise awareness of the killer condition.
Tisdale admits she felt compelled to lend her support to the
campaign after her beloved nana Marilyn fought the disease and
lived.
In a statement to website JustJared.com, she writes, "I'm thrilled
to be working with Puma on Project Pink this season. Breast cancer
is a cause that's so close to my heart, and I love the program's
message of empowerment for young women.
"I wear my pink for my grandmother, who recently battled breast
cancer. I'm happy to say that she's now in remission, but there are
too many women out there who are still fighting."
