Ashley Fink dropped from Glee cast

Ashley Fink has been dropped from the cast of Glee.

The plus-size star played Lauren Zizes on the hit TV musical series, but fans were left wondering about her future when her character quit the high school glee club New Directions at the start of the third season last year (11).

Now Fink has confirmed she won't be returning to McKinley High.

She tells TheInsider.com, "It is what it is. Lauren's somewhere in that school, she's just not on camera or being talked about. She's involved in activities that aren't televised."

However, the 25 year old insists she isn't bitter about losing her job - because she understands it's just how the TV industry works.

She adds, "Glee is very much a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants (operation) in the way that best laid plans never quite come together. They have so many (characters) to take care of and I think once they made the decision that all these characters were going to graduate, it shifted the way this season was going to go."

Co-creator Ryan Murphy previously revealed he will also be fading out the characters played by leading stars Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith as they "graduate" at the end of the current third series, although they will return for cameos in future episodes.
