Anne Hathaway refuses to discuss Les Miserable diet

Anne Hathaway refuses to divulge any more details on how she dropped 25 pounds (11.3 kilograms) for her role in new movie musical Les Miserables because she doesn't want to give impressionable young girls any ideas.

The dedicated star went on a strict diet, so she could authentically portray desperate prostitute Fantine in the upcoming film, and she recently confessed to reporters she only ate two dried squares of oatmeal paste a day to get to her ideal weight.

But, after repeatedly fielding questions about her eating habits, Hathaway has now vowed to remain tight-lipped on the other methods she adopted to attain her alarmingly thin frame, so other women don't try and emulate her.

She tells breakfast show Today, "Honestly, it's upsetting to talk about. I get nervous talking about it because I find that I don't want to be seen as trying to glamorise it.

"There's a lot of talk, a lot of pressure, especially on young girls, to lose weight and what I did, I didn't do it to get hot; I did it to look like I was dying. So I don't want to be seen as, in talking about it, giving it more weight... Do not do this at home."
