Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt buy Turkish villa
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have splashed out $2.7 million on a seaside villa in Turkey.
The Hollywood couple owns a number of properties in the U.S. and in France, but have reportedly added to their portfolio by snapping up a holiday home in the coastal town of Urla in Turkey.
They visited the region with their six children - Maddox, Pax,
Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox - over the summer (15), and took
a boat trip organised by local businessman Mehmet Unal.
"They had their children, cooks and staff with them. We took them
around (the) Pinarli, Yassi, Cicek and Kasik islands from early
morning 'til the afternoon. They even came to our restaurant with
their yacht," Unal tells Turkey's Anadolu Agency.
"The couple loved Urla very much, because we have the sea,
artichokes, fish and everything here and this place is just 20
kilometers from the airport. They saw this, I think they will visit
here very often," he added.
They purchased the four-story luxury mansion, which features a
swimming pool and a gym, in October (15).
Mesut Guleroglu, chairman of Izmir Chamber of Real Estate Agencies,
has declared average house prices in Urla have already begun to
rise due to the new celebrity residents.
"Earlier, you could find a moderate house far from the coast for a
price of 200,000 Turkish lira. But after the news of celebrities
buying houses flew about, the price of the cheapest house has
jumped to 250,000 Turkish lira," he explained.
The couple is currently trying to offload their home in New
Orleans, Louisiana after listing their five-bedroom, three-bathroom
pad for $6.5 million in June (15).
