Andy Samberg to host 2015 Emmy Awards
Funnyman Andy Samberg has been tapped to host the 2015 Emmy Awards this autumn (15).
The former Saturday Night Live regular and current Brooklyn Nine-Nine star will serve as the presenter for the annual television prizegiving, which will take place in Los Angeles on 20 September (15).
TV Academy chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum made the announcement
on Thursday (12Mar15) in a statement which reads: "It’s wonderfully
fitting that we have Andy Samberg, an Emmy Award winner himself, as
our host for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards. Andy has excelled
in all aspects of the television universe, both from behind and in
front of the camera."
Samberg, a seven-time Emmy nominee, won the Outstanding Original
Music and Lyrics prize for co-writing hit D**k in a Box for sketch
comedy show Saturday Night Live in 2007.
