Andrew Garfield taking Angels in America to Broadway
Andrew Garfield is returning to Broadway next year (18) for the New York transfer of his Angels In America revival.
The Amazing Spider-Man star recently completed an acclaimed run of Tony Kushner's play on London's West End stage, and now the play is heading to the Great White Way.
Garfield will reprise his role as Prior Walter, and will be joined by his National Theater co-stars Nathan Lane, Susan Brown, Denise Gough, Amanda Lawrence, James McArdle, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett for the limited 18-week run at Manhattan's Neil Simon Theater.
Previews will begin on 23 February (18), ahead of an official opening on 21 March (18).
Angels in America was previously staged on Broadway in 1993, with Stephen Spinella as Prior, while Justin Kirk took on the lead role in Mike Nichols' hit TV adaptation in 2003.
Garfield last appeared on Broadway in 2012, when he made his debut in a revival of Death of a Salesman.
