Andrew Garfield 'disappointed' with Spider-Man fame
Andrew Garfield has become disillusioned after finding fame and now dreams of "simpler times" when he struggled to land jobs.
The Social Network actor is set to become a Hollywood leading man following the release of his latest project The Amazing Spider-Man, which is expected to be a summer (12) smash.
However, Garfield, who plays the iconic web slinger, is convinced
he has "lost a bit of innocence" because of the comic book
blockbuster.
He tells Britain's Radio Times magazine, "(I liked) struggling...
auditioning and getting turned down and wondering if I'm ever going
to get another job. To achieve what you set out to achieve and
realise it's not what you want, it's disappointing.
"This role had been something I'd always, always wanted to do. Then
you realise it's like any other acting job.
"Some days it's great, others you feel lost. And I'd always felt
that if I got certain roles then I'd be set for life, emotionally,
professionally. It would be utopia. But you never get to utopia.
The dream has become reality."
