America Ferrera still drives economic friendly car purchased a decade ago

Actress America Ferrera still drives the economy car she purchased before she made it big.

The former Ugly Betty star found herself in financial trouble after buying a BMW with her first big pay check and quickly traded it in for a more economic motor after realizing she couldn't afford the luxury vehicle.

"When I got my first decent pay check I went out and got a BMW convertible because it was, like, my dream car," she told late night host James Corden. "But I was still in college and literally two weeks later I couldn't afford to fill the tank with gas.

"I had to borrow money from my mom to buy my school books. So I felt like a big a**hole and I quickly turned it in for a Toyota Prius, which I still have, like, 10 years later."
