Amber Heard's lawyers: 'Johnny Depp lost his fingertip in alleged drunken rage'

Johnny Depp sliced off the tip of his finger in a fit of rage, according to his estranged wife's legal team.

Amber Heard's lawyers claim the actor was drunk and high when he slammed a plastic phone against the wall of a villa they were renting in Australia during a row about her alleged infidelity, seriously injuring his forefinger.

In documents obtained by TMZ, he then dipped his bleeding digit in a pot of dark blue paint and wrote various words on the wall, including "Billy Bob" and "Easy Amber".

The paperwork explains Johnny was convinced his then-wife had romanced co-star Billy Bob Thornton - a claim she strongly denied.

Amber's attorneys go on to claim Johnny didn't get medical help for nearly 24 hours, so doctors could not reattach the fingertip. Instead they used a flap of skin from his hand to sew on a new tip.

The latest claims and photos, also obtained by TMZ, come just days after video of Johnny in a rage leaked online on Friday (12Aug16), smashing a wine bottle and glass.

The latest incident reportedly went down in March, 2015, a month after Amber and Johnny wed. Their 15-month marriage came to an abrupt halt in May (15), when the actress filed for divorce and a restraining order against her ex, claiming he was violent and abusive towards her throughout their relationship.

Heard was reportedly questioned for over six hours on Saturday (13Aug16), as part of a deposition requested by Johnny's legal team ahead of her domestic violence trial with the 53-year-old, which is expected to begin on Wednesday (17Aug16).

According to TMZ, Heard was quizzed about accusations she has made about her estranged husband's assaults and her claims of violence at the hands of the Pirates of the Caribbean star. The claims originally emerged two days after she filed for divorce on 25 May, when Heard lodged graphic photos of her bruised face and black eye with the court. She said the injuries were caused by Johnny throwing his cell phone at her on 21 May (16).
