Amanda Bynes sentenced to probation in suspended license case

Embattled actress Amanda Bynes has been fined and placed on three years probation for driving on a suspended license.

The Hairspray star's lawyer, Richard Hutton, entered a no contest plea on his client's behalf during a court hearing in Los Angeles on Thursday (09May13), after she previously pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanour.

The judge overseeing the case ordered Bynes to stay out of trouble for three years, and warned not to drive without a valid license or insurance. She was also ordered to pay a $300 fine, reports TMZ.com.

The count relates to a run-in with the law in Burbank, California in September (12), just two weeks after she was charged with two hit-and-runs, which resulted in her driving suspension. The hit-and-run accusations were subsequently dismissed after Bynes reached financial settlements with the alleged victims.

Bynes, who has since relocated to New York, has one other legal issue to attend to - she is still facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) relating to a separate motor mishap last year (12).
