Alyssa Milano leaks spoof sex tape to draw attention to Syrian crisis
Alyssa Milano is using humor to draw attention to the escalating conflict in Syria by filming a spoof sex tape for comedy website FunnyorDie.com.
In the clip, the former Charmed star and political activist appears to be making a steamy home video with a sexy lover while on vacation in Cabo, Mexico, but just as things start to get hot and heavy, she accidentally knocks the camera, turning it to face the TV as a special report on the crisis in Syria is broadcast.
Milano hopes her cheeky film will encourage fans to read up about
the ongoing fighting between government troops and rebel forces as
world leaders join the call for military action to put an end to
President Bashar al-Assad's oppressive regime following the
government's suspected use of chemical weapons against innocent
civilians last week (ends30Aug13).
Discussing the purpose of her 'sex tape' with MotherJones.com, she
says, "If people end up learning something about the crisis in
Syria that's a good thing - even if I had to do a sex tape to lure
them in."
Getting serious on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "4M (million)
+ kids are now affected by the brutal conflict in Syria. Support
@UNICEFUSA's efforts to help ChildrenOfSyria (sic)".
