Alexandra Burke tweets spark police investigation

Police in Britain have launched an investigation after singer Alexandra Burke was sent a number of threatening messages via Twitter.com.

The Bad Boys star was left shaken after receiving nasty tweets which allegedly threatened her life and her management stepped up security at the launch of her new lip gloss line in London this week (beg09Apr12).

A source tells the U.K.'s Metro, "The police agreed to meet Alex at the entry of the club (where the launch was held) when she arrived and escort her in... Her management decided to draft in extra security to be by her side all night... Every threat has to be taken seriously."

A representative for the singer confirmed the event went as planned and police officers have now launched an investigation.

The rep says, "Alex is fine. There was no drama and the launch went really well.The police will be looking into the abusive tweets."
