Adele tied winning records at the Grammys
Adele tied three major records at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (12Feb12) after taking home six top trophies.
She became only the sixth act in history to sweep the top three awards - Record, Song and Album of the Year - and only the second artist to win all of Grammy's four highest honours over time, thanks to her Best New Artist prize in 2009, according to GoldDerby.com. The other was Christopher Cross.
She also tied the record, set two years ago by Beyonce, for the
most victories in a single year by a female artist.
Only Michael Jackson has scored more victories in one year - he
picked up eight in 1983.
In all, Adele took home trophies for Record of the Year (Rolling in
the Deep), Song of the Year (Rolling in the Deep), Album of the
Year (21), Best Pop Solo Performance (Someone Like You), Best Pop
Vocal Album (21) and Best Short Form Music Video (Rolling in the
Deep).
