Adele shares spotlight with viral video singers
Adele surprised two fans by inviting them to perform their viral video medley of her hits during her concert on Sunday night (06Mar16).
The Hello star played her second and final gig at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, and to close out her weekend (05-06Mar16), she decided to share the stage with Irish singers Glenn Murphy and Ronan Scolard, much to their surprise.
In anticipation of attending the concert, Glenn and Ronan had
posted a video of themselves singing a medley of some of Adele's
biggest hits, including Someone Like You, Turning Tables, and When
We Were Young.
The video went viral and Adele was left so impressed with their
renditions that she brought Glenn and Ronan up to the stage
mid-concert to give the audience a live performance of the
medley.
"Did any of you see it (the video) yesterday?," Adele asked the
crowd. "For those that didn’t, prepare to have your mind blown. I
cried. I refuse to cry again tonight in front of all of you... It
blew my mind. They did not know I was going to do this!"
The star had already prepared a piano and microphone for the duo,
and both were clearly overwhelmed with the unexpected invitation to
perform. Adele stepped out of the spotlight to let Glenn and Ronan
take over, as she proudly watched on from the back of the
stage.
Adele only kicked off her world tour last week (beg29Feb16), but
she's already set a trend of inviting admirers on stage - she
helped a female fan propose to her boyfriend in Belfast.
After being welcomed on stage by the Grammy winner, the woman
explained how her boyfriend turned down her proposal earlier that
day, since the leap year tradition reverses regular gender roles
and the woman pops the question to her man.
Adele was not happy with his answer and scolded him, saying, "You
have to say yes, or (the crowd) is going to turn on you!"
She then had the audience chant, "Come on, Neil!", as he finally
accepted his girlfriend's proposal, prompting Adele to jump for
joy.
