Adele scoops two Q Awards

Adele celebrated a double delight on Monday (24Oct11) when she won two top honours at Q magazine's music awards ceremony in the U.K.


The soul star was named Best Female Artist and also scooped the Best Song of the year award for her track Rolling in the Deep.


British rapper Tinie Tempah won the Best Male Artist prize, Coldplay took home the best act in the world today honour, and Bon Iver won Best Album for his self-titled disc.


Price Tag hitmaker Jessie J won Best Video for her Do It Like a Dude promo, Biffy Clyro landed the Best Live Act honour, and U2 were named the best band of the last 25 years.


Noel Gallagher - whose debut solo album topped the British chart on Sunday (23Oct11) - crowned a memorable weekend when he collected the Q Icon award, telling the audience, "I've had a lot of awards over the years but this is the most recent."


Take That star Gary Barlow received the Classic Songwriter award at the ceremony in London, Queen were entered into Q's Hall Of Fame, and '80s star Siouxsie Sioux was honoured for her outstanding contribution to music.
