Adele beats One Direction as richest British celebrity under 30

Adele has been named the richest British celebrity under the age of 30, with an estimated worth of $114 million .

Editors of Britain's Heat magazine have compiled the list of the 30 Richest British stars under 30, which sees the All I Ask singer beat One Direction to the top spot for the first time in three years.

According to the publication, Adele, who is currently in the middle of a worldwide tour, has doubled her wealth over the past year, judging by her 2015 figure of $47 million , which saw her placed in fourth position on last year's (15) list.

Closely on Adele's tail is former Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, with an estimated worth of $92 million , followed by singer Ed Sheeran, who makes his debut on the list in third position thanks to his estimated fortune of $55 million .

The One Direction boys do appear in the top 10 of the list, but are now featured as solo artists instead of a group. Zayn Malik has enjoyed the most success following his time with the band, with an estimated $47 million in his pocket, putting him in fourth.

Harry Styles, who can soon be seen making his acting debut in Christopher Nolan's war epic Dunkirk, is in fifth position with $46 million , while former Harry Potter actress Emma Watson is in sixth with $44 million . The last three members of One Direction also feature in the top 10, with Liam Payne and Niall Horan in joint seventh position with $42 million apiece and Louis Tomlinson in ninth with $41 million .

"Adele has been unstoppable this year with her album release and stadium tour, so it comes as no shock that she has come out on top," Heat's editor Suzy Cox said.

"Despite their break-up, the One Direction boys have managed to stay in the top ten but it will be interesting to see where they all stand next year after the release of their solo material."

Heat have compiled their 30 Richest British stars under 30 for the past six years, with a panel of industry experts looking at record sales, movie profits, television deals and endorsement work to estimate the wealth of each celebrity.
