The Veronicas' Jess Origliasso rekindles romance with Ruby Rose

Jess Origliasso “reconnected” with her former flame Ruby Rose as the pair worked on The Veronicas’ new music video.

The two stars were first linked back in 2008 in what was thought to be a brief on-off relationship, and recently worked together for a video to accompany song On Your Side by The Veronicas, made up of Jess and her twin sister Lisa. Reports of a rekindled romance began when Ruby posted photos of herself with Jess back in August (16), after splitting from girlfriend Harley Gusman, and the singer has now confirmed they are in fact back together.

“We have been friends for eight years. A really long time and it was just honestly the craziest thing,” she told Nova FM's Kent 'Smallzy' Small on Monday (07Nov16). “We just reconnected over doing this video, she wrote and directed it, and is in it with us and we just sort of fell in love.”

Ruby also stars in the music video, which Jess explained documents the highs and lows of love and relationships. She also opened up about why things failed the first time round; admitting being in the public eye took its toll.

“Now we are quite protective of what we have, so obviously being able to be open enough but keeping a lot of it for ourselves is something that we're very conscious of and I think it just depends on the people what you're willing to share,” she noted.

It seems Lisa predicted the couple would one day reunite having witnessed the “chemistry and connection” between them early on, and she immediately knew they were in it for the long run.

News of their reunion first surfaced when Ruby, 30, posted a photo of her and Jess on Instagram a week ago sitting on the back of a car as the sun set.

“Road trip with the most beautiful girl I've ever known and loved@jessicaveronica and the equally divine and force of nature @lisa_veronica plus my rock and soul who is my best friend in the whole world @courtneyafrica,” the Orange Is the New Black star captioned the shot.
