Adam Sandler's film company sued by injured carpenter
Funnyman Adam Sandler and his partners at film company Happy Madison have been dragged into a legal spat over an accident on the set of comedy That's My Boy, which almost cost a carpenter his hand.
The production company bosses have been named in a lawsuit filed by Richard Houpert, who lost part of his hand due to a faulty table saw.
The plaintiff sawed off fingers on his right hand and sustained
multiple fractures, and claims the accident could have been avoided
if the tool he was using had been properly fitted with "safety
components such as saw stops and safety guards".
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Houpert claims the on-set
injury has led to him losing work and income.
He is seeking $1 million (GBP645,000) in damages.
Houpert is also suing Black & Decker - the company that
manufactures the table saw.
