Actress Laura Vandervoort calls off engagement

Canadian actress Laura Vandervoort and British actor Oliver Trevena have called off their engagement.

Trevena proposed to the Ted beauty on New Year's Eve (31Dec) in 2013, just months after they started dating, but they have now called it quits.

A representative for Vandervoort confirms to Us Weekly that the engagement is off, and a source adds that the pair "broke up before the holidays."

Vandervoort previously posted an emotional message on her Instagram.com account exactly one year after Trevena proposed, on 31 December (14).

She wrote, "Don't limit who you are & who you can be... Happy New Year... Here's to new beginnings with old, loyal friends. To being young and reckless no matter what your age is. To writing your own love story, in the most spontaneous moments. To being brave enough to dream big, and turning those dreams into reality. Here's to knowing yourself a little bit better and loving yourself a little bit more. Here's to you."
