Actors Liza Weil and Paul Adelstein split
Actors Liza Weil and Paul Adelstein have split after nearly 10 years of marriage.
The How to Get Away with Murder actress filed for divorce from Paul recently after they separated in January (16), according to documents obtained by TMZ.com.
In the legal papers, Liza is requesting joint custody of their
five-year-old daughter and they are deciding the details of spousal
support in private mediation.
Liza and Paul, who have both starred in TV mogul Shonda Rhimes' hit
shows Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and Private Practice, wed in
2006.
The former Gilmore Girls star told the show's fan podcast in
September (15) she never imagined tying the knot with someone in
showbusiness, explaining, "I think both of us didn't think that we
would marry another actor, because it's hard."
She continued, "If you just have the other idea of another one of
you, you don't really want to wake up next to you in the morning.
But we're both very different and similar in terms of how we work,
so it works for us. It's really nice to have that built-in
shorthand and understanding. It's not for everyone though. I think
we're very well matched."
The news comes weeks after Liza's How to Get Away with Murder
co-star Charlie Weber filed for divorce nine months after marrying
his girlfriend Giselle.
