Abbie Cornish dismisses death rumors

Abbie Cornish has assured fans she is alive and well following reports of her death on Monday (20May13).

The Sucker Punch star became a hot topic on social networking websites this week (begs20May13) after a page titled "R.I.P Abbie Cornish" was set up on Facebook.com, where it garnered more than one million 'likes' from users.

Pranksters claimed Abbie Cornish died on Monday and would be "missed but not forgotten", and now Cornish has spoken out to set the record straight.

In a post on her own Facebook page, she writes, "Imagine waking up one morning, logging on to the world wide web and discovering that you are dead. At least that's what happened to one lady hailing from the Hunter (Valley) this week.

"Someone certainly hadn't let her know for she got up and went about working on her next film."

Abbie Cornish, who is currently working on psychological thriller Solace, also addressed the rumors on her Twitter.com page, tweeting, "All you can do is laugh right? Today I was married, got pregnant and died. Wow... I am single, there is no baby in my belly, and I am alive. Check my Twitter for any updates on my life. Peace."
