A.J. McLean to be a dad again

Backstreet Boys star A.J. Mclean is set to become a father again.

The 38-year-old singer shared the news with fans on Instagram on Labor Day (05Sep16).

"So the McLean family will be expecting a new addition to the family next spring!!" he wrote alongside a photo of four pairs of Air Jordans - one for each member of his family.

"#laborday!" he continued. "Ha get it 'labor' day! I'm a goof! #avaisgonnabeabigsister #baby2! Keep u all posted!! We're so excited."

McLean and his wife Rochelle, who wed in December, 2011, welcomed daughter Ava Jaymes in November, 2012.

The Backstreet Boys baby news comes less than five months after bandmate Nick Carter and his wife Lauren became first-time parents.

Little Odin Reign Carter was born on 19 April (16).

The couple's pregnancy news first emerged in late October (15), and Nick subsequently admitted he and Lauren had been struggling to conceive as he opened up about the pregnancy during a stint on competition Dancing With the Stars.

"We've been trying to have a baby for about a year now," he explained. "It's been rocky, to be quite honest with you. There's been times when we thought it wouldn't happen."

"We were pregnant before and we lost the baby," Lauren added. "It was really hard on Nick. Just watching him get so excited about something (and) then just see him so hurt was hard (sic)."

Meanwhile, fellow Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson also recently opened up about his wife Kristin's fertility issues, which prevented them from immediately adding to their family after son Mason was born. The couple eventually welcomed its second child, Maxwell, in 2013.
