50 Cent responds to son's graduation rant
Rapper 50 Cent has accused the mother of his teenage son of failing to invite him to attend the kid's high school graduation after he was accused of purposely snubbing the celebration.
Marquise Jackson took aim at the In Da Club hitmaker in a post on his Facebook.com page on Sunday (18May14), criticising his famous father for failing to show up for his big day at his private school in Atlanta, Georgia.
Alongside a photo of the youngster, dressed in the traditional cap
and gown, hugging his mother Shaniqua Tompkins, he wrote, "Yea
(sic) I broke down. I was really excited to see my pops at my
graduation but he never showed up smh (shaking my head). My sister
and mama is always there for me just know that you wasn't (sic). I
did it without you."
However, 50 Cent has now addressed the controversy and blamed his
ex for turning what should have been a private family matter into
headline-grabbing news.
During an appearance on music show 106 & Park this week
(begs19May14), he explained, "I haven't (sic) received an
invitation.
"When he graduated, I was in Budapest (in Hungary) on a movie with
Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law, and Jason Statham.
"I think, at some points, the reason why it actually comes out is
because his mum is going to TMZ (gossip website). I wish she'd find
someone so she could leave me alone."
50 Cent also shared details about his struggle to balance his work
and personal life so he can maintain a relationship with his
son.
He said, "It's tough because you travel a lot and you move around.
You still have to be able to provide those things that are really
detrimental (sic) to a child being able to have a decent
upbringing. A nice place to stay, private schools, and everything
else they would actually require to have a good education. It's
tough because my relationship with my older son is dictated by his
actual mum."
