Ariana Grande subtly confirms new romance at VMAs

Ariana Grande subtly confirmed her relationship with rapper Mac Miller by calling him her "boo" at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (28Aug16).

The One Last Time singer went public with her budding romance with Miller earlier this month (Aug16), after she was spotted kissing her The Way collaborator during a date night in California.

The pop star hit the prizegiving red carpet solo on Sunday night, leading MTV pre-show host Charlamagne Tha God to inquire about Miller's whereabouts.

Asked where her "boo" (boyfriend) was, Ariana slyly answered, "Being supportive. It's OK to be alone even when you have a boo."

The singer's confirmation comes after the new lovebirds were snapped getting new tattoos together at the famed Shamrock Social Club on West Hollywood's Sunset Strip on Thursday (25Aug16), before taking their relationship to New York on Friday (26Aug16), where the couple tried to avoid being photographed together as it enjoyed a day out at the Museum of Ice Cream, and at a club later that night.

Host Charlamagne also poked fun at Ariana's donut scandal from last year (15), when she was criticized for appearing to lick a sweet treat left atop a shop counter.

"No pastry licking," the host joked to Grande as she prepared to head into the Madison Square Garden venue. She quickly dodged the drama by responding, "I'll keep it in mind," before letting out a small chuckle.

She was later joined inside by Miller, who stood by her side as they gave a standing ovation to Beyonce following her showstopping Lemonade performance.
