What's up guys? We're hanging out in the Young Hollywood studio with Luke Hemsworth. How's it going?
Good, good. How are you?
Doing well. So glad to meet you in person. Such a big fan.
Thank you. Glad to be here. Thank you.
Now, do you, do you live in LA full-time or do you go back and forth between here and Australia?
I live here full-time. I've been here for, uh, almost six years now.
The difference between LA and Australia? Are there any like huge differences?
Uh, there's a lot of differences. You know, we speak the same language but I think, um, there's a lot of big sort of cultural differences, a lot of subtleties you pick up as you live here.
You know, you have so many exotic animals in Australia. You've got kangaroos, all the different animals, do, is there anything here that's exotic to you guys?
You guys have bears. You have bears here. I mean, You only have babies. You only have bears. We have these little, like pretend bears, they're koalas. But they're not even, they're not even bears. They're pretty nasty but, uh, uh, you guys have grizzlies. I mean, there's, forget about monsters. That's a grizzly. Our bears are in the ocean. They're drawn sharks.
Yeah. You surf a lot, right?
I do. I do. I do. I surf whenever, whenever there's waves, um, which is not a lot lately, uh, but uh, yeah, I, I like to, you know, I'm a searcher. Chase the dream.
Yeah. Okay, you said, correct me if I'm wrong, quote, "I've seen sharks in the ocean. It hasn't made me get out of the ocean." That's for sure.
Yeah. Yeah, I've seen a few actually. I've, I've one swim, swim right past me which was pretty scary. I was really clear day, I was, I was paddling back out and, uh, as I duck dive, so you go under the wave. I had my eyes open cause it was so clear. I was like, oh, it's so beautiful. And as I duck dive, this big beast went, ah, and took off that way. I was like,
Did you freak out?
I freaked out. I was like, dad, shark. And my dad was right there. So the shark was heading straight towards him. And he's like, oh, cool, where? And sticks his head under the water to have a look. I'm like, what are you doing? Are you kidding?
Yeah. And so your kids are probably fearless like that too. Are they in the water a lot? You guys are always playing with bugs. I see a lot of bugs on your Instagram.
They're a little too fearless. My little girl broke, well she fractured both uh, bones in her wrist jumping off a bulldozer down at the beach actually. I was like, hey, get up there. I'll take a, take a photo for Instagram. Oh man. And uh, she just kind of got a bit crossed up and landed funny.
The things we do for Instagram, right?
I know, stupid dad.
You're kidding. This is such a cool show. Westworld. It's such a fan. What can you tell us about the the second season?
Yeah. Nothing. Um, look we we we sort of, I think the first season we scratched the the surface, you know, it's the tip of the iceberg. And this season, we get to we get to we get to pull apart, you know, pull apart these characters and show something very different as well. Um, so there's a lot of there's a lot of there's a lot of good stuff which hasn't been done. Yeah. A lot of really, really amazing, uh, developments which which is pretty exciting. But yeah, I mean it's, I I can only be very vague. But we we we go deeper into the nature of of of humans and particularly the dark nature. And also, you know, it's it's maybe a cautionary tale about technology and how we need to probably be a little bit careful with what we're
Oh yeah. What we're doing. Would you ever live in a world like this? I mean if you had the option to go for like a day, you can hang out with robots, do whatever. Would you do it?
Sure. Yeah, of course. I mean, yeah, it'd be hilarious. Um, a world without consequences, I I don't think there's many people who wouldn't go. I'd like to go to Jurassic World. That's That's the one that I think should be integrated into the park. Yeah. Jurassic Park world.
You are gonna work with Skarsgård though. You're working with one of the Skarsgård brothers, right?
Yeah.
You guys are going to butt heads in this season.
Well, he seems to think that he's in charge of me and I seem to think I'm in charge of him. So, and and that's a uh, that's also off-screen as well cause Skarsgård and Hemsworth I think it's there's probably a, you know, a WWE match there that's that's ready, ready to go. Tag in, tag out. He's you know, he's great. He's he's an amazing amazing actor, amazing human being.
What about Dolores though? Is she gonna be changing in this season at all?
Yeah, she gets to um, experience a whole world of new emotions and we get to discover that with her. I mean she is a forced to be reckoned with and so is so is Evan. She you know, I think there's there's a lot of great parallels between Evan and Dolores. And she said that, you know, it changed her life as a as an actress. Oh yeah. And as and as a human being, which is really cool to see that the journey that as an actor you go on because you're living these, you know, these things every day. And uh, you can't help but sort of be dragged along and and and and changed by it all, I think.
Totally. Yeah. Well, thank you so much. It's been so good to hang out with you. I can't wait for this show.
Thank you. Me too.
